Mana now has a Nutritionist working with us in the Vitamin Room... Here's a bit about her!

Mana now has a nutritionist working with us in the Vitamin Room and we are thrilled to introduce her to you!

Linda brings valuable knowledge and an informed perspective to our team. As an introduction to you all, the following is a quick interview with her!

  • Please share a little about your background and what brought you to the field of nutrition…

    • “As long as I can remember I’ve been interested in learning about the body’s ability to heal. Initially, I worked in hospitals providing dietary counseling. After realizing that prevention or a more natural approach would be more productive, I transitioned to nutritional counseling and supplement recommendations with the general public in a nutrition center, with cancer patients in an immune center and through an online program that educated people about digestive health and immunity. I truly enjoyed all the moments in those settings where I was able to have a positive impact on other people’s lives.”

  • Do you hold a degree in this field? If so, tell me a bit about the educational path you’ve taken to get to where you are today…

    • “I graduated from Golden West College with an Associate of Arts degree with honors, from Orange Coast College with a Food Service Management/ Dietetic Service Supervisor Certificate and a Nutrition Care/Dietetic Technician Certificate. My learning process is ongoing as I continually listen to seminars and read information about holistic health.”

  • What brought you to Mana and what do you love about working at Mana?

    • “I was drawn to Mana with the hopes of meeting like minded people who understand the importance of self care and healthy living. So far I’m loving the awesome coworkers at Mana!”

  • What are some of your favorite philosophies on healthy living?

    • “It’s important to encompass all aspects of personal health. In addition to supplements getting adequate sleep, eating whole nutritious foods, movement and a connection to nature are all important. I love walking barefoot in the wet sand at the beach (also known as ‘grounding’)”

  • What is your favorite section of the Mana Foods Vitamin Room and why?

    • “So much to enjoy in the vitamin room! I’m a fan of the essential oils and my favorite supplements for immunity are D3+K2 and probiotics.”

  • Wildcard—Share anything you find interesting about you and the work you do.

    • I live on a flower farm in Kula where I enjoy gardening. I’m currently working on sharing a little less of my vegetables and herbs with the bugs. It is definitely a learning curve…

Come visit us in the vitamin room and feel free to meet Linda—She will likely have some great answers to any of your nutrition based questions!
